B. To attach a microphone or headphones
Connect the microphone and/or headphones cables to the designated ports in the laptop (notice the headphones and microphone icons above the ports). To adjust the volume
Click on the volume icon on your Windows taskbar.
Click on the volume slidebar, and slide it to your desired volume level.
Make sure the Mute box is not checked.
C. Attaching an LCD projector
Make sure your laptop is off.
Connect the video cable from the VGA port on the back of your laptop to the VGA port on your LCD projector (sometimes labeled Computer In ).
Connect the power cable to the LCD projector.
Remove the LCD projector's lens cap.
Turn ON the power of the projector first.
Turn ON your laptop next.
To send the video signal to the projector, depress the Function (Fn) key on the lower left of your keyboard and the F8 key simultaneously.
Depress the Function (Fn) key and the F8 key again simultaneously to view the images on the laptop display as well as on the projection screen.
D. Troubleshooting an LCD projector
If the image is not correct, the resolution that the laptop is sending and the projector is receiving may not be in sync. To change the resolution of the laptop display:
Go to Start, Control Panel.
Select Display under Classic View or Appearance and Themes, then Display under Control Panel view.
On the Display Properties dialog box, choose the tab for Settings.
